New Adventure, New Blog Name!
I decided to just do it already! I'm reviving my blog. I've been working on a post that I hope to have ready soon, but rather than putting off and putting off I wanted to get started right now. I'm so excited to finally be a mom! Yes, that's probably why my blog was dormant for almost 10 months now. I was busy making my mini-me.
Isn't she adorable? I love her so much and enjoy getting to know her more each day. Even if I'm totally sleep deprived, covered in spit-up and completely clueless on how to care for a newborn. I can't promise to write daily, or even weekly. But, I do have lots of things I'm thinking while I'm here at home with baby girl and I think my blog is the perfect place for them! Here is to a new start.

We're Back!
Well, things are finally starting to settle down around here. We've had the internet up and working in our home for over a week now. Who knew our lives were so dependent on this technology. Well, I plan on using it to continually update this blog.
I've started WW again, today, so hopefully this blog will help facilitate those healthy cooking and eating habits again. I also hope to take more photos, especially of the kittens exploring their new space.
All in all, it's good to be back!

Eleven in 11: Evaluating May
Where is this year going so quickly? Each day seems to zoom by! May was an incredibly busy month for us and I hardly had time to blog. But, let's see how we did.
The breakdown:
1. Volunteer opportunity- Check! I am now an advocate. I am also interested in volunteering for the libraries in town. A dear friend of mine is a librarian and I know he busts his for his patrons. I'm a little saddened by what I've read recently about the funding for the libraries in town, so my philosophy is to always be part of the solution, and not just someone who complains. We'll see.
2. The weight loss one- Ugggg. I have hit a plateau, however, I'm not gaining. Which is good. I'm maintaining the net loss of 33 lbs. Part of the problem is that I'm no longer tracking points as strictly. But, also, I've slacked up on the gym. We have a good incentive though for me to press on and finish my ultimate goal. This fall we are going to NY for a family member's engagement party!
3. Plan and take honeymoon- We went to Amelia Island. Collectively, Tim and I decided that we simply didn't ever have a honeymoon. While the trip was a FABULOUS trip, it just wan't a honeymoon. We missed the boat 3 years ago, and it isn't something you can just have 3 years late. It's ok though, we still loved vacationing! You can see our recent trip photos from here and here.
4. Trying four new recipes- I think we managed to do it this time:
- Parmesan Parsley Chicken
- Roasted Red Ranch Potatoes
- Cube Steak Rollups
- and another roasted red potatoes recipe, only this time tried a French Onion mix
5. Blog three times a week- Only had 12 posts, but again...we were kind of swamped.
6. Student loan- Check!
7. Savings!- Check!
8. Read 52 books- I bought another book, this time Chelsea Handler's newest release...but I've still only made it through the introduction...
9. Facebook birthdays- I really am reconnecting with some folks because of this!
10. Visit 12 new restaurants- Koreana was soooo yum! I highly recommend!
11. Etsy- I think I'm going to use Fridays as a crafting day. Did I mention I now work 4 days a week? Yay! 10 hours is a little rough M-Th...but having 3 day weekends is a blast!
I hope many of you are getting to take some time off this summer to do fun things. I want to go to six flags at least once. Any takers?

Happy New Year: Eleven Goals for 2011
Ok, so technically I'm 24 hours and some change late...but I wanted to wish you all a great new year. I thought I might blog about myself some in this post. Tim is still thinking on his, but I have already decided my 11 goals for 2011. I thought I'd share most of them (some are just a little more private than others).
- Find new volunteer opportunity- I used to do 24 and 48 hour shifts for the rape crisis hotline in Athens and I'm looking for something similar now that we have moved.
- Lose X pounds (X by the beginning of July)- I've already lost 17 doing WW and exercising (almost daily). I thought giving myself a deadline of July made me think about it in more realistic terms. I put the Xs to try to keep it somewhat personal :)
- Plan and take honeymoon- Now this one does involve Tim. We're thinking about possibly going to NYC for a weekend, but we're still thinking out ideas. If you have a suggested for an extended weekend let us know!
- Try four new recipes a month- This basically equates to one a week but gives us some flexibility too. I hope to chronicle this one on the blog so stay tuned!
- Blog three times a week- Yes, we know we've abandoned you...but that will change! Today counts as one right? Ha, ha...
- Pay at least $X off student loan- Again, tried to keep the finances private. It's actually quite gratifying when I make my student loan payments. I'm going in to my second full year of repayment and I love seeing that number go down. :)
- Put $X in savings- Similar to the one above, but I have sat down and done the math and I've got a number tucked away for safe keeping.
- Read 52 books- another one that I hope to blog about (maybe it will help with goal #5). I think roughly one book a week is totally doable.
- Wish each Facebook friend happy birthday- crap! Typing this I realized I missed today...well I call mulligan on that one...I'm going to start on that as soon as I finish here...yikes...(by the way this goal was inspired by Peter Shankman's seminar in Montgomery...)
- Visit 12 new restaurants- I'm really looking forward to this one. It can also help goal #5!
- and finally finish working on my etsy store- I'm so excited about this one! I need to get to making some jewelry!
And that, my friends, is the list. I had a recent discussion with someone about new year's resolutions. I don't make them. I like the ideas of small and realistic goals. I started this back in 2009. I had 9 goals for 09 and 10 in 10. Since the creation of X in 20XX, I've done much better than simply saying "I'm going to be a better person," or "I'm going to get fit." So here is wishing you the best on setting realistic goals and working to accomplish them!
